Dutch Auction or RFP Process

Atlas’s strategy in a Dutch auction is a price at which the bidder bids on an open platform. The asking price starts high in a Dutch auction and declines until a bidder agrees to a number and the auction ends. A transparent bidding platform where competitors see each other’s offers can increase client savings, contractual terms, and bid offering.

One advantage of a Dutch auction is that it tends to make higher payments to an issuer than those derived from traditional, initial public offerings. In addition, Dutch auctions tend to shift share purchases away from investment banks and toward smaller investors.

Atlas’s approach to the RFP process includes a forum for announcing projects, which we will customize to the client’s recommendations. We have a dedicated department to manage the RFP process from beginning to end and keep the client apprised of the bidding cycle.

Our RFP requirements include the following:

  • Background and introduction
  • Project goals and scope of services
  • Anticipated selection schedule
  • Time and place of submission of proposals
  • Timeline
  • Elements of the proposal
  • Evaluation criteria
  • Possible roadblocks
